About Us

Vine Antiques started trading in 1978 and became a limited company in 2000. The mainstay of our stock is British and Irish silver from the late 17th. Century to the present day. The range of items covers novelty and collectors’ pieces – caddy spoons, vinaigrettes, snuff boxes, nutmeg graters, 20th Century designer pieces, Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau and Art Deco silver. We also have unusual pieces of silver relating to sewing, smoking, wine drinking and tea making. We normally carry a wide and varied stock of silver caddy spoons, Queen Anne and George I English miniature silver by David Clayton and others, and a selection of animal peppers and other models. We are renowned dealers in Victorian and Edwardian silk-woven Stevengraphs and always have a good selection of pieces in first class condition.

We have divided much of the stock into three main categories: - Silver, Collectables and Stevengraphs. If you know what you are looking for (e.g. Georgian silver vinaigrettes) you can go straight to the Collectables area and select Vinaigrettes from the menu list. If however, you are looking for pieces by the Bateman family, the Keyword search may well be the most efficient.

For many years we traded from the Portobello Road Antiques Market www.theportobellomarket.co.uk/ - which is always a good hunting ground for antiques in all price ranges. We moved into a permanent shop in Grays Antiques Arcade in January 2009.

To view pieces of stock in person, please check the Fairs and Events page to see if we are attending an Antiques Fair in your area. If we are not currently at a Fair you will find us at our shop in Grays Antiques Centre, in Davies Street, London. www.graysantiques.com/ This is a large antiques centre that is located in Mayfair, in the heart of London, conveniently situated opposite Bond Street Underground station and only a few steps from Oxford Street. Our ‘core times’ are from 11:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday but we can meet you, by prior arrangement, at the shop between 10:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday and 11:00 – 17:00 on Saturdays.

Please telephone first to arrange a meeting outside our core times. Please note that our shop at Grays will be closed while we are exhibiting at Antique Fairs. Please see the “Fairs and Events” page for further details.
