DESCRIPTION

Fine, Victorian silver Castle-top vinaigrette depicting a view of Abbotsford from across the river Tweed. Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1835 by Taylor & Perry.
This particular view is a specialty of Taylor and Perry and is also found on snuff boxes and card cases of the period.
The box is fully marked, with William IV's duty mark, T&P maker's mark and lion passant to the lid, Birmingham anchor, T&P maker's mark and date letter to the base and lion passant to the underside of the grill.
The box is in fine, undamaged condition with engine-turned decoration to the side and base and a vacant cartouche to the underside.

The box is in fine condition with engine-turned decoration to the side and base and a vacant cartouche to the underside. There are a few scratches to the internal gilding on the base of the box.
