English provincial, Arts & Crafts hammered silver jug hallmarked in Chester for 1922. It was made by John Gatecliff who registered his mark at Chester Assay office in 1907, and again in 1913. Listed as an 'artist and craftsman', he appears to have worked from his home address, 28 Greenhead Lane, Otley, Keighley, Yorkshire.
This is a cream or milk jug and the matching sugar bowl can be seen as Stock #12304.




Excellent, undamaged condition with very clear hallmarks.
